Commemorative Poster Competition

CALL FOR ENTRIES
Description:
The Official Texas State Arts & Crafts Fair is pleased to present an
opportunity for Texas Artists, age 18 and older, to compete for the title of
2009 Official Texas State Arts & Crafts Fair Commemorative Poster Artist.
The original art should reflect the Fair’s Vision to be “known as the
premier arts and crafts event, showcasing the best juried original works for
exhibit and sale by Texas Artisans…in a safe, friendly, family environment.”
The poster design may be used in other marketing and retail items.
Eligibility:
Open to all artists 18 years and older residing in the state of
Winning Artwork Details:
The winner will receive a $500
cash award, recognition as the
Official Poster Artist, 25 posters, a giclee of the winning artwork and a
sampling of other printed marketing items that incorporate the artwork.
The original winning artwork will become the property of Texas Arts &
Crafts Educational Foundation as the grand prize for the 2009 Fair Raffle.
The original artwork will be
displayed in various locations during and prior to the 2009 Fair.
The artist will have the opportunity to show and sell a body of
his/her work in Rivers Edge Gallery within the limits of a standard gallery agreement, during May 2009.
The winning artist agrees to sign a number of posters during the
Fair.
Entry Requirements:
Artist must complete and send the attached entry form along with
digital images of the artwork no later than November 15, 2008.
Images may be submitted by CD or by email to
fair@tacef.org.
Keep in mind that the artwork will be reproduced in full color in an
18” X 24” format, including border.
Entries may vary from this size slightly.
Each image entered requires a $10
application fee. Artists may
submit up to 3 images. EXAMPLE:
Submitting three images requires a $30 application fee.
Applicants must agree by signature on the entry form to the rules and
regulations of the competition, in order to be considered.
Deadline:
Entry form, application fee and images must be received by November 15,
2008.
Notification:
All entrants will be notified by December 15, 2008 whether or not their
artwork has been selected. The
selected, unframed original artwork must be delivered to TACEF offices by
January 9, 2009.
Panel of Judges:
A panel of judges including art and marketing professionals will make
the selection. Their decision will be
final. In the rare event that
the judges deem that no entry submitted would make a suitable poster, TACEF
reserves the right not to use an entry from this competition for the
Official Poster Art.
